Columbus Networks Establishes a Program to Assist School Districts Affected by Hurricane Katrina
Kelowna, B.C. – Through the Education America Network (EAN), Columbus Networks Corporation is contributing to the recovery and rebuilding efforts caused by the destruction of Hurricane Katrina. EAN has launched a Hurricane Katrina Employer Assistance Program (http://www.educationamerica.net/katrina.phtml. Through this program EAN is offering school districts throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and schools and/or districts in the surrounding states who have taken in displaced students, access to EAN’s e-recruiting services and technology. This includes access to post teaching, administrative, and support staff vacancies, search the resume database, and all other services offered by EAN.
EAN sympathizes with all the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The devastation is unimaginable. The people of Louisiana and Mississippi have demonstrated great fortitude in surviving the storm and the after effects. The road to re-building communities and individual lives is beginning and is encouraging.

Houston Independent School District Signs Up for Education America Network E-Recruiting Solutions
Columbus Networks Corporation has established Houston Independent School District (HISD) as a member to its Education America Network.
Houston Independent School District (HISD) is the largest public school district in Texas and the seventh largest in the United States. Presently, HISD is accommodating nearly 2,800 new students from New Orleans and other coastal communities who were displaced by Katrina. The challenge of ensuring every student receives the best possible education requires staffing needs to be addressed expeditiously; EAN’s services directly address this necessity.
Education America Network Enrolls Another Large U.S. School District
Columbus Networks Corporation has finalized its relationship with another large U.S. school district; Memphis City Schools has signed on as a full time member of the Education America Network.
Memphis City Schools is the largest public school system in Tennessee, the 21st largest in the nation, and services more than 119,000 individuals in grades K through 12. The district is the second largest employer in Tennessee, employing more than 16,500 personnel. As of September 3rd, the Memphis City Schools have registered 150 children displaced from New Orleans and other coastal communities by Katrina. EAN’s services assist both the education sector employers and the teachers to identify and communicate the opportunities and the high quality professionals available.
